Diana and Nathan held their wedding at the impeccable grounds of The Mount. This historical home in Lenox, MA, was the beloved home of Edith Wharton and is flush with romantic gardens and classical elegance. Diana and Nathan chose a black and white color palette that perfectly complemented the regal estate. Diana and Nathan brought on Aligned Events to provide comprehensive wedding management to pull all the details of the Berkshires wedding together. This elegant summertime wedding was full of classical details that perfectly complemented the grounds of the estate.
When I first met these two it was clear they knew how to plan a party. Every detail of their wedding was thoughtful and carefully planned. When Diana handed me a perfectly to-scale diagram of the ceremony gardens – I knew she was a planner at heart. Their vendor team was carefully and beautifully curated – from the always flawless catering of Mezze Catering to the lively performance by SpeechLess Music – this was a great party.
One thing we couldn’t get to align with careful planning was the weather. June 22nd was a supposed to be a perfectly clear early summer day. Like, not a cloud in the sky or a blip on the doppler radar kind of day. But, as these things happen, a half-hour before Diana and Nathan’s first look, the sky opened up with an unexpected downpour. It was so unexpected that I found the Nathan and his groomsmen in the gardens under cover of a tree to shield themselves from a drenching.
Part of our job as planners and coordinators is to roll with the punches. In doing so we help our clients do the same. Diana and Nathan were cool as could be – grabbing umbrellas and relocating their first look inside. It was clear that these logistical stresses didn’t matter much anymore. They were getting married, and everything else – frankly – didn’t matter that much.
Like any good story, the sky cleared up just in time for the guests to arrive and the ceremony to begin. What love these two displayed as they journeyed through one of the biggest, most emotional day of their lives together. Their kindness was evident almost as much as their joy. From Diana’s stunning ceremony procession to the final get-away car sendoff – this day was pure elegance and magic.
